About Us

ELOCIN SPECIALTY FOODS is a food manufacturing company specialising in the production of wheat free and gluten free foods. ELOCIN Foods has been in business since 2001. We operate out of a purpose built, totally gluten free kitchen based in Warkworth, New Zealand.

When following a restrictive diet, such as one that is gluten free, it can become very boring with so little choice available. At ELOCIN Foods we have tried to introduce as much normality - and excitement - back into wheat free and gluten free diets. With our products such as pastas, breads, biscuits, baking mixes and ice cream cones you don't have to feel like you are missing out on anything.  Many of our products are also dairy free.

We try to limit the presence of preservatives in our products by not adding any ourselves but there are some ingredients that do contain them (eg. margarine, which make some of our biscuits dairy free).  We do keep a look out for alternatives but they can be hard to find, and expensive.

All ELOCIN products are made the old fashioned way - from scratch and by hand - just like you would make them at home.

Nicole Tucker

Owner, Manager (production, administration, sales, marketing,...the buck stops here).  Nicole is who will most likely answer when you call or email with a query or order.

Nicole has multiple allergies to many foods and environmental factors. The addition of gluten to the allergy list was very disappointing at the time. Being a lover of pasta, Nicole tried for ages to find a suitable gluten free replacement. When she was unable to find one to satisfy her high standards Nicole decided to make her own, and ELOCIN Specialty Foods was born.

Tania Cobb

Production Assistant Manager - all products.

Tania is lucky enough to be allergy free but having worked at ELOCIN since 2007 she has learnt the importance of having allergy-friendly foods available to those that suffer. Before she started with ELOCIN Tania had never heard of gluten free but now she is an absolute whiz at making our fantastic range of goodies.

Andy Tucker

Waste Disposal Manager, part-time Production Assistant (pasta).

Andy, Nicole's dad, was a panelbeater for 30 years before retiring.  Because you can't play golf everyday, and it's hard to give up getting your hands dirty, he learned how to make gluten free pasta to help out when it's busy.

ELOCIN Specialty Foods is humbled by the wonderful support provided by friends and family.  They spread the word about our fantastic products.  During the crazy busy times, especially Easter and Christmas, they offer to lend a hand so that we can always provide the prompt service that all our customers have become accustomed to.
